are two reasons why socialism/communism will never work.
1. It is contrary to human nature.
2. Central planning will never work as well as free markets.
o George Orwell was a socialist when he wrote in his book, “The Road to Wigan Pier”. In that book he observed that many of the people who attended socialist meetings and professed socialist ideas and agitated for socialism derived their courage to do this because of a deep, secret belief that socialism would never happen in their country. George Orwell was a keen observer of human nature, and I suspect that this observation of his is accurate.
· Individual Freedom
Freedom is scarry!
Many people would rather
be taken care of by Big Brother than be responsible for their own success and
survival … until they actually understand (or experience) the consequences of
life under Big Brother.
Collectivism is like a beautifully packaged pile of shit. It superficially looks so alluring and wonderful, but upon deeper inspection its true rotten core becomes obvious.
· Free Enterprise
The name Capitalism is
just another name for a Free Enterprise economic system.
Free Enterprise is the
form of economic activity that will evolve naturally in any population that has
the following two features:
1. Private property
2. Freedom
Free
Enterprise is a very powerful engine for the generation of wealth. It is so
powerful that its regulation is necessary. Lazi Faire is unworkable in the long
term because it will almost certainly lead to monopoly. Ideally the Free-Market
system will be regulated by government enough to ensure competition but not so
much as to stifle economic health.
